MUSIC – Residents of the Bois de Vincennes are not at the end of their troubles.
The Parisian festival We Love Green, which opened there on Thursday June 2, and which must be held there until Sunday June 5 (except Friday June 3), has visibly prevented many people from falling asleep from his first evening, which was scheduled to end at 12:30 a.m.
Many residents of the neighboring town of Alfortville, but also of Ivry-sur-Seine or the east of the capital have complained on social networks (see tweets below) the particularly high volume of the festival’s sound system, located at a place called Plaine de la Belle Étoile, in the heart of the Bois de Vincennes in the 12th arrondissement of Paris.
“The sound is incredibly loud, I can’t even imagine the people and children who are right next door and who are simply prevented from sleeping”, points out a surfer on Twitter, while another quips: “You can go up the sound please, we don’t hear enough in Alfortville”.
After three years of absence due to the health crisis, the We Love Green festival, always more eco-responsible and which expects around 100,000 spectators over its three evenings, is making a comeback this year.
Gorillaz was notably the headliner of this opening night, while Phoenix is expected on Saturday, before a day on Sunday where PNL and Angèle are notably scheduled.
Since we hear everything @WeLoveGreen in Alfortville, I imagine that the spectators will have serious deafness problems.

I confirm, impossible to sleep at Porte de Charenton, windows closed.@Anne_Hidalgo@WeLoveGreen are you sure it’s green / sustainable your business? I’m afraid that a true festival caring for others and animals is… an acoustic festival. https://t.co/p0RHYfGIrv

Damn, but I’m two metro stations from the Bois de Vincennes and there’s the we love green festival in my apartment

Seeing how I heard Gorillaz at We Love Green from my apartment, I figure I don’t need to go there for SCH and Dinos on Saturday.

@WeLoveGreen We should think about lowering the sound, we can hear you all the way to Maisons-Alfort, it’s unbearable! There are some who work tomorrow and who would like to sleep well without having the impression of having a live concert in our room (yes, it’s STRONG at that point!!)

I live in Ivry-Sur-Seine, I’m in a very well insulated apartment with double glazing, my bedroom looks on the opposite side, and Shazaam MANAGES TO RECOGNIZE THE PIECES THAT @gorillaz PLAY IN @WeLoveGreen. How do the spectators not be stunned by the sound?

I can’t even imagine what it’s like in Vincennes / Saint Maur, since you can hear it from the 11th (Faidherbe)! 🤪

@WeLoveGreen You can turn up the sound please, we don’t hear enough on Alfortville

Still the same cancer @WeLoveGreen. The sound that can be heard in a good big radius, as if it were at a neighbour’s. And Paris always lets it pass.
