A reunion under high tension. This Friday, June 3, the British royal family was gathered for a Mass given in Saint Paul’s Cathedral on the occasion of the celebrations for the 70 years of reign of Elizabeth II. An event to which did not participate the sovereign who felt “some discomfort” on the first day of the festivities. “Taking into consideration the route and activity required for the service of thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Her Majesty reluctantly concluded that she would not attend.”, Buckingham Palace said. Conversely, the prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle were them well present for the religious service. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not appeared in public since leaving for California two years ago.
Despite everything, the atmosphere still does not seem to be in good shape between Harry and his brother William. In the cathedral, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were already installed at a great distance from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. And during the ceremony, the two brothers adopted very different behaviors.
Harry and William, two irreconcilable brothers?
Harry was notably pictured laughing and joking in his seat, as he spoke with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and their husbands. For their part, Prince William and Kate Middleton have seemed embarrassed and rather uncomfortable during mass. The eldest son of Prince Charles and Lady Diana did not show a smile in front of the photographers and exchanged no words with his brother.
At the end of the ceremony, Harry and William also took care of do not leave the cathedral at the same time. When the bells started ringing, Prince Charles and Camilla were the first out, followed by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, with Kate happily waving to the crowd while chatting with her husband. Harry and Meghan left the building shortly after, holding hands and were seen chatting with rider Zara Tindall and her husband. The hour of reconciliation has not yet come.
